Host of the city’s hugely popular and irreverent Bongo’s Bingo club night, Jonny Bongo is brushing up on his Q & A techniques before he interviews celebrity chef and author Gino D’Acampo at the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival next weekend!
In a special one-off, Jonny will be chatting to Gino in the demo tent about both his cookery and television careers, including his time as captain on panel game Celebrity Juice; as part of the chef’s appearance on the second day of the event Sunday the 18th of September. Considered one of the most loyally attended food and drink festivals in the country, this year’s festival is set to attract in excess of 45,000 food lovers from across the region, being held once more in the picturesque surroundings of Sefton Park. The event will see up to 60 of the city’s bars and restaurants come together for the weekend along with a wide variety of attractions including a Street Food zone, a Kids Village for budding cooks, a Good Life area hosted by celebrity nutritional health coach and best selling cookery writer, Madeleine Shaw and a Spirit Theatre, where visitors can learn about their favourite tipples. Gino D’Acampo co-headlines this year’s festival along with Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain. Nadiya will be meeting visitors on festival Saturday and sharing baking tips and advice, whilst Gino will be hosting demonstrations on the Sunday.
Speaking about his up and coming appearance at the festival, Jonny Bongo said: “I’m a huge fan of the food and drink festival. We’ve previously ran a Pub Quiz in Sefton Park during festival weekend, and it was great to be invited back this year to interview Gino. He’s a bit of a legend isn’t he – I love him on Celebrity Juice. I’m still working out what questions I’m going to be asking him, but I’m certain it’s going to be loads of fun!”
