Children’s Interactive Area
Families from around the city will descend on Sefton Park this September for the fourth annual Liverpool Food & Drink Festival.
Returning even bigger and better this year is The Children’s Interactive Area, which will offer children of all ages an array of exciting and interactive activities, provided by the best family and child orientated businesses from the city and beyond.
This year’s Interactive Area will focus on educating families about where food comes from as well as encouraging them to grow their own. Families can expect a selection of cookery workshops, taste adventures, inspiring demonstrations and a whole host of competitions.
Family Go Live Magazine are sponsoring the free admission to the festival for all Children 14 and under. They will also be on hand in the children’s interactive area with fun and games, activities and great competitions!
Eat The Chef is THE online community for food, featuring a wide range of great online tips and recipes, it’s a great place to pick up new ideas, or even to share some of your own!
Members of the EatTheChef team including TV chef Simon Rimmer will be holding a workshop for children at the festival; ‘Tips and Tricks of a TV Chef’ allowing theparticipants to make their own recipe video on the day and upload it to the main site.
Home Farm will be present to showcase a variety of rare breed birds including an observation chick incubator.
Receive free nutritional advice from Emma Carder while sampling fresh fruit and vegetables.

Enjoy cake decorating workshops with Water Babies.

Local theatres will be present to showcase all upcoming family friendly productions.
Junior Chefs Academy are pleased to be involved with the Liverpool Food & Drink Festival.They will run adult and child cookery sessions throughout the weekend. Having young children and parents or guardians working together learning kitchen skills is great fun, and encourages a better understanding of foods and tastes for a healthier diet.
The Windows Project will be running food related story-telling and interactive creative writing workshops. This will tie in with Mersey Saga, which will be one long poem, woven together with contributions from all over the festival. It will celebrate all that’s great about Liverpool Food and Drink Festival.
Skinnimalinx will be carrying out smoothie making workshops with parents and children.
Speke Hall will be allowing children to make Tudor Roses out of marzipan. Get your hands on some free family tickets through their fantastic competitions.
Sapporo Teppanyaki will be running interactive cookery workshops in their very own Kid’s restaurant, whereby children can take part in Sushi rolling workshops and receive special t-shirts.
For those children with a sweet tooth, they can enjoy chocolate making workshops carried out by an experienced chocolatier from The Chocolate Cellar. Dip and decorate chocolates to create your very own small tray to take home.
